CubeSat Builder: Build a NASA Spacecraft!
Build Tiny Spacecraft in a Busy Workshop
CubeSat Builder: Build a NASA Spacecraft! is an educational building game where you work as a space engineer. Your mission is to assemble small spacecraft called CubeSats and prepare them for their journey into space.
You work inside a special cleanroom where different spacecraft parts need testing and assembly. Engineers send you orders, and you must build each CubeSat according to the requested design.
The challenge is to finish as many spacecraft as possible before the timer runs out.
You need to move around the room, collect parts, test equipment, and put everything together in the correct order.
What Is a CubeSat?
A CubeSat is a small spacecraft shaped like a cube.
Scientists and engineers use these spacecraft to study Earth and explore space. Some CubeSats carry cameras, while others use special instruments to collect scientific information.
Each CubeSat needs several important parts to work correctly.
A computer controls the spacecraft. Batteries and solar panels provide electricity. Antennas allow the spacecraft to communicate with Earth.
Other equipment helps it navigate and maintain the correct direction.
In CubeSat Builder, you learn about these parts while preparing spacecraft for different missions.
Follow the Engineers' Blueprints
Look at the spacecraft orders shown in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Each order tells you which parts the engineer needs.
Start by collecting the required components and taking them to the testing stations. You can test several parts at the same time to save time.
Once the equipment passes its tests, collect an empty CubeSat box and place it at a workstation.
Add the tested parts to the box. Make sure they match one of the active orders.
Test Your Spacecraft Before Launch
Finishing the assembly does not mean your spacecraft is ready to leave.
You also need to carry out final checks.
Take the completed CubeSat to the vacuum testing chamber and the weighing station.
These tests help prepare the spacecraft for its mission.
After the checks are complete, place the CubeSat on the conveyor belt to send it toward the launch pad.
You can then begin working on another order.
How to Play CubeSat Builder
Use the Arrow Keys or WASD to move your engineer around the cleanroom.
Press Spacebar to pick up or drop objects on the work counters.
On touchscreen devices, use the virtual joystick to move and the action button to carry objects.
Try working on several spacecraft parts at once. You can prepare one order while other components undergo testing.
CubeSat Builder challenges you to manage your time, follow instructions, and understand the steps involved in building a spacecraft. Every completed order helps you learn more about space engineering.
