Rules of the Game
Below is a more casual, human-friendly explanation of how “Tents and Trees” works:
- Matching Number of Tents and Trees
- You need one tent for every tree on the grid. So, if there are five trees, you must place exactly five tents.
- Tent-Tree Pairing
- Each tent must sit right next to a tree (above, below, left, or right—no diagonals).
- Even if a tent is next to multiple trees, it’s considered paired with just one of them.
- No Adjacent Tents
- Tents can’t touch each other at all, not even diagonally. They like a little personal space!
- Row and Column Counts
- The numbers around the edges of the grid tell you how many tents belong in each row or column.
- Interaction Mechanics
- Click on an empty square to pop a tent in there.
- Press the spacebar on a square to mark it green (like a reminder or guess).
- If you click on a square that already has something in it (a tent or a green mark), it clears it.
- Gameplay Objective
- Your task is to place all the tents without breaking the rules: you have to match row and column counts, keep each tent next to a tree, and make sure tents never touch.
- Why It’s Fun
- “Tents and Trees” is straightforward to learn but keeps you guessing as you figure out the perfect arrangement.
- It’s great for exercising your logic and problem-solving skills.
- There’s a real sense of satisfaction when you finally see it all come together without any rule violations!
